Sagittarius:
You thought something would stand forever, only to find that, like so many other structures and institutions, the center will not hold. You're tempted to run away when it all falls apart, but you can't afford to be absent from this situation. Even in the middle of all this chaos, you have opportunities. Start by minimizing the damage or containing the rubble. Although the next cycle can't begin until the current one plays out, you could be a guiding hand. The shape of the future is changing before your eyes. Write your signature there while you still can.

Mel Gibson's daddy

Check this out. If Mel won't denounce his father's sick statements then he is most definitely not OK in my book. I don't care how senile his dad is. I don't care if his dad has 1 marble left rolling around in his head. If his son had any decency he'd set the record straight but what does he do instead, he makes propaganda and hypes it up as art, and cries boo hoo poor me the celebrity they won't leave me and my daddy alone. Nevermind that his daddy is a bigot. If his dad is really that senile then medicate him, and shut him up, and lock him away. Otherwise take responsibility for what he has said publicly.

I waited patiently for the Lord; he inclined to me and heard my cry.

Psalms 40:1
It is all over the news so I am going to talk about it. Mel Gibson's movie. First off I haven't seen it, and I'm not sure if I will shell out 9 bucks to see Mel's art. It is art by the way, Mel said so in his interview with O'Reilly. O'Reilly was really hard hitting with the questions (not). It was more like a awwwwww poor Mel Gibson the millionaire that is misunderstood, the noble artist; was Lethal weapon II art? See I'm not sure on that one. Now this is just my opinion mind you, but if Mel wanted to something to honor Christ he could have opted to make a pilgrimage to Lourdes in France. There one can actually walk through the passions of Christ in a holy place and when he finished he could have donated 25 million dollars to the Catholic church. The 25 million could be used to prosecute pedophile priests and the bishops that protect them. Also I heard on an NPR broadcast that in certain places in France Anti-Semitism runs so high that Jews there are assaulted on the street simply for being Jewish or looking Jewish. Mel could possibly make some art about that when he was done with his spiritual journey.

This is why I am being so harsh. This movie is being touted as a religious experience, the church has rallied behind it, that is all fine and good. I doubt Mel's true intentions and motives. Like I mentioned before I cannot gauge the level of Anti-Semitism in the movie because I haven't seen it. I have listened to criticism about the gospel of Matthew which this movie is supposedly based upon. I have heard Mel's interview where he admits taking artistic license. I'm am torn, but only about one thing. Anything, be it art, music, poetry, or graffiti on a wall, that generates an Anti-Semitic sentiment infuriates me. So I am torn about whether this movie does that or doesn't. If it does, then it crosses the line and is no longer art and it becomes propaganda. If it is innocent of that then it is art. Either way, Mel makes a buck.

A side note: I guess Andy Rooney blasted Mel Gibson on 60 minutes. O'Reilly called for Andy Rooney's resignation on his show because he thinks Mr. Rooney isn't playing with a full deck.

Another side note: I can't help but think the last two people on the planet I'd turn to for any type of spiritual message or inspiration would be O'Reilly and Mel Gibson. If I want to talk to Jesus I get down on my knees and pray. I don't need a movie or anything else to teach me that. Jesus will love me if I see this movie or if I never see it.

In closing let's not forget there are two portions of the Bible. The Old Testament and the New Testament. Without the Old Testament there would be no New Testament. The underlying message of both Testaments is to make a covenant with God, or better yet a covenant between God and mankind exists and we should honor it in our lives.

Somebody update me, were the crusades in the 11th or 12th century?

This is the first post.

First off let's talk about American manufacturing jobs being outsourced. In layman's terms it makes me sick. I have worked in various technical manufacturing jobs for over 10 years (including manufacturing LCDs for US military aircraft), and each skilled position I've held has always been shipped overseas to save some rich corporate fat cats' money that they probably don't even know what to do with at this point. What is made in America anymore? Only a handful of products I can think of off hand. This is our great big strategy for the future? Who's future? The rich are already rich. I would say it is a great strategy if the plan is the elimination of the middle class.

Let's take a closer look shall we. First the typical Midwestern manufacturing jobs were outsourced to countries where they could be filled cheaply. So the displaced American workers went back to school, we learned technical and computer skills for the next wave of technical jobs that was on the horizon. Now once again, due to corporate greed and misappropriation of funds those jobs are dwindling and being outsourced.

There was a day (long before I was born) where a high school diploma could land you a decent job, then it was an associates degree, then bachelors. Now a masters is almost a must really, and that still provides no security or longevity within any corporation, and be prepared, your company's name will most likely change 8 times if you stay there 3 or 4 years. Are we moving in the right direction? It would seem that we aren't. My blog, my opinion.

If I hadn't met so many co-workers in my travels that have come to me with the same story I would say oh I'm just a bitter person and these are my bitter views. The truth is I know others hold these exact same views. I know people that spent 10 years with a company and watched round after round of layoffs until their number was final called.

The bottom line is corporate responsibility. It doesn't exist. The worker is not looked at as a person. If I was feeling witty and clever I'd write a satire about corporate America, the truth is I'm too disgusted so I've cut to the chase.

Let's learn from history and not repeat it. Let's rebuild this country to what it used to be, or something better. For those that read this realize your actions and decisions affect your fellow Americans.

I'll leave you on this note. When it was decided we needed Aircraft in the middle of World War II, management didn't say, "Let's have another country build them for us cheaper !!!" and subsequently Rosie the riveter wasn't in the unemployment line but she was building Liberators to fight tyranny and oppression.
