Here is a very recent news article from the Boston Globe about another Boat Captain that was actually at the ambush in Vietnam. You be the judge. Is this tactic all the Republicans have to talk about? Maybe they should make better use of the next few months they have in office.

I wanted to address the so called controversy over the medals received by John Kerry in Vietnam, and all the hype in the media lately. First of all, the guy that Mr. Kerry saved and pulled out of the river said people were shooting at them. So if there is some other person that wasn't even there at the time with a story, who cares. More importantly let's scutinize the military record of George W. Bush. I'm not even going to make an issue of the fact that he served in the Texas Air National Guard, safe and sound during the war. I will however raise the issue of the mysterious dissappearance of his military records after the 911 film was released and the whole prisoner abuse scandal was taking place. If you are a serious voter or just an American that has any interest in facts, do a little research for yourself. Play a little game. See how many people you can find linked to the Bush administration that were linked to the Nixon administration. It is a fun little game to play. We call the game sleazy Republican trivial pursuit. Start with Donald Rumsfeld if you like. If you are a little more daring look into the ring-leader of the Veterans group that is bashing Kerry. Oh yeah, this just in, due to the pipeline that the terrorists blew up gas prices are going to rise again. Wow I am shocked, I thought it was all going so well over there. Oh here is another little tidbit, correct me if I'm wrong. Last I checked, after no WMDs were found and Saddam was ousted, we were supposed to be liberating Iraq ?!?!?!??????? Well Bush was scheduled to possibly pull a little publicity stunt if the Iraqi Soccer team made it to the finals in the olympics. The Iraqi team issued a statement that said they want to be used in NO WAY by Mr. Bush, and for him to stay away. These guys aren't terrorists, they are soccer players, and also Iraqi citizens. If I were in their shoes I would issue the same statement, I might add get your army out of my country you sick demented oil baron. If we are looking for homeland security then let's get our troops home so we can have some security.

Aug 09, 1678, American Indians sold what is now known as the Bronx to Jonas Bronck for 400 beads. (courtesy of excite.com)

So anybody care to calculate the rate of inflation by guessing the current real estate value of the entire Bronx? I'm guessing it is worth at least 800 beads plus a few trinkets by now. If you plan on actually making the calculations you must take into consideration that the Yankees were not playing baseball in the Bronx in 1678, so this drops the value considerably; unless you are a Mets fan from Queens. How much did Queens cost in beads? What is the value of a bead from 1678? I hope these were gold and platinum beads handcrafted by Jonas Bronck and his family of bead dealers. I guess we'll never know.
